Sat, 01 Nov 2014 19:16:23 +0000http://fatfreevegan.com/?p=6974#comment-87842May I suggest for those that are newer to cooking so not so good at reading between the lines that “Mix the dry flours together …” be reworded since there is only 1 flour & the other ingredients never mentioned, save the sweet potatoes. Also to please include the picture of your brownie (or whatever you are speaking of at the time) in the items printed on individuals home printers (or give them a choice)! I have come back today to get a picture of the brownie & make sure that “Mix the dry flours together” is “Mix the dry ingredients together then add the wet ones” then “and the mix it into the mashed sweet potato.”

Sun, 24 Feb 2013 18:23:58 +0000http://fatfreevegan.com/?p=6974#comment-34590I made these with cocoa powder, substituted barley flour for chestnut. Added 1/4 c. applesauce, reduced maple syrup to 2 T. in icing. Cooked for only 20 minutes. Yummy!

Mon, 28 Jan 2013 10:35:26 +0000http://fatfreevegan.com/?p=6974#comment-33916I got chestnut flour at an indian grocery store. That flour is not used that often and I imagine you could easly substitute another bean or nut flour. Did not notice anything distinct about the flour. the brownie was ok, Ive had better brownies made from black beans.

I looked in the most likely places here in SoCal – Whole Foods and Mother’s Market – and ended up having to order the chestnut flour online.

Mon, 03 Sep 2012 18:49:48 +0000http://fatfreevegan.com/?p=6974#comment-19466I calculated it once before, but I do not have it anymore. I think it came out to roughly 200 calories for 1/9th of the recipe, but I am not sure. If you want to figure it out, you can put the ingredients into here. http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp
For any ingredients that are not in there, you can simply google the nutritional info for that specific ingredient and add it manually.

Sun, 02 Sep 2012 12:39:07 +0000http://fatfreevegan.com/?p=6974#comment-19449The recipe has chopped walnuts in them, you added more? Were you able to find chestnut flour? I agree, they are more of a dense, fudgey brownie. Honestly, I don’t know if I have ever had a “regular” brownie anyways, so I wouldn’t know! 😉
