It’s one of my favorites during the chilly time of the year. I’ve never made it tin the slow cooker, so I can’t give you any advice based on experience. However, I think that it should be fine with the quantities as shown, or maybe with a bit of extra liquid just to make sure. Let me know how it turns out if you make it in a crock pot!

It’s been fabulous each time I have made it. I’d like to fix it in the crock pot. I transport animals and this would be fabulous to come home to. Do you think I need to change the wet to dry ratio? Absolutely, go on and play with this recipe to your own liking! I would chop bell peppers the same size as onions, celery and carrots, and add them at the beginning with those vegetables. Cardamom will work fine instead of paprika – use a little bit at first, and then add more to taste if you’d like.
