I cannot wait to hear what comes next…
]]>Your young neighbours sound lovely – people do really want to help if you give them a chance don’t they?
The story of Tinne helping herself to pears reminded me of Floyd a dog we once owned and loved. He too was very partial too fruit and could often be seen standing on his hind legs leaning on the fence “picking” my neighbour’s apples.
He also liked to play with a basketball and somehow managed to send that over the fence. Imagine my neighbour’s mirth when she discovered that the culprit was our dog.

]]>The more I read your posts, the more impressed I am with how far you’ve come, and your tenacity of spirit. Mike is right – you are a bad ass!
I really loved reading about all the wonderful people in The Yellow House. And the 3-gallon jug and the ability to make the connections about the 3-gallon water jugs. And Tinne, stealing pears! I laughed out loud at that!
Such simple things, filling water, making fires. but they are everything. And they are yours once again. I know for me, doing those simple things has so much more enjoyment in them for the true understanding of what it is like to lose them.
Maria, your writing about this process, and the perspectives you have about things, like that making the connection about the 3-gallon jugs being something you could lift, is so valuable for me. I am very grateful!

p.s. – I keep think about the Doc Martins from the Barefoot post 🙂 I used to have some – I fancied myself “punk” for a short time, LOL, and they *were* heavy!
Now you have light, elven feet, in my mind, clad in the most delicate and sensitive silver and lavender slippers. Sensitive and lithe, the soles having conversations with the earth at every step.
