Assorted Pack of Five Cards

Assorted Pack of Five Cards

It isn’t Black Friday anymore (thank goodness), or even Cyber Monday. It’s just Tuesday, December 3rd. But here at Plant-Based Slow Motion Miracle, we’ll christen it “Take A Look Tuesday.” After much hard work and many episodes of Β “Lucy And Ethel at the Candy Factory” my online shop page, Slow Miracle Art Store, is now open for business.

If you’ve been asking me about where to get my cards or prints andΒ you’d like to help support the Plant-Based Slow Motion Miracle blog effort, this is the place to do it. And if you’d just like to go take a look at my new shop set-up, it doesn’t cost a thing to do that either. Just click on the green “Slow Miracle Art Store” button in the menu at the top of the blog. Or on the link on the right hand side under the drawing “Listening to the Earth.”

I’ve learned a lot in the past several weeks, and expect I’ll learn even more now that the store is actually open. I’ve learned packaging that’s secure, minimal, yet pleasing to me is a complicated challenge, if I let it be.Β I’ve learned shipping costs are more than I’d hoped. I’ve tried to adjust the prices of the actual items so that the total costs of ordering is pretty close to what I initially wrote about in the Slow Miracle Store Page? post. I’ve been reminded I have to trust myself, even if I’m scared to death to do so.

I have many people to thank for helping to make this project a reality. First and foremost is Susan Voisin, my friend, host and mentor on this site, who first encouraged me to use more of my artwork as part of my blog. She not only offered to host a shop, but to build it for me, replete with the beautiful slide show you will see in the “store.” Since I had to be the one to learn how to make a PayPal button, she sent me instructions and patiently encouraged me through many days of hand-wringing about how to understand the process. When I finally grasped how to create the buttons and send them to her, she patiently steered me through a series of “Lucy and Ethel in the Candy Factory” episodes in which I inadvertently disappeared the buttons she had installed, not once but twice, and then just to be magical, a third time. Her gracious presence is a blessing in my life and to the very existence of this blog.

Then of course there is Jonathan and Cindy at Archer Photography who helped me lay out and print the cards and the prints, along with the friends who encouraged me and who I consulted with on packaging and mailing and who told me to “dive in.” Then there’s the handful of Pay Pal customer service reps around the world who came to my assistance with the basics. And of course my son Mike and his wife Kelly who always cheer me on and help me out however they can, including explaining to me how to figure a percentage on the calculator.

But then, too, there is you, my generous and amazing readers, for suggesting to me that you wanted to buy what I make. Without that belief in the value of my art work, I would not be typing this blog post. And without the plant-based doctors, nutritionists and other leaders out there, I would not be well enough to ever even conceive of such a moment coming to fruition. The constellation of blessings is immense, and even if I haven’t remembered to mention each star, I cherish and honor them all every time I do something I only dreamed I might do, or never thought would be possible.

And with that spirit of thankfulness and adventure, I hereby snip the virtual ribbon to the doorway of my Slow Miracle Art Store. Take your time. Look around. I hope you like what you see.

I am very excited about this! I can’t wait to make my purchases. I am planning to give a pack of your cards to a beloved friend as a Christmas gift (and keep a pack for myself) and I want to hang your Listening to the Earth print in my yoga room. It is my wish for you to be successful with this little online store of yours as you have been such a wonderful inspiration for me since you began writing your blog. While I am typically a quiet observer, having only commented two or three times, I never miss a post. My heartfelt thanks for sharing your story and your lovely artwork.

Melissa, you brought tears to my eyes–thank you so much for all this–for letting me know that you never miss a post, that you wish for my store to succeed and that you plan to purchase some of my offerings. It means the world to me, all of it. You bless me and my work with your careful attention and support.

Congratulations!! I’m so very happy and excited for you. πŸ™‚ I’m putting some items in my cart as I type! Like Melissa, I think I’ll put the print up in the room I do my yoga practice. It seems very fitting to be there. I’ll also pass this on to people I know, as I’m sure they’d love these cards and print.
It’s funny and wonderful to see the different places life takes you – this is a huge accomplishment, and I wish you all the best and success!
xoxo

Side question – How does one buy multiples in the store? Each time I click, Paypal doesn’t increase the number in the basket, and there isn’t a way to add more (or add the print)… Do I need to buy each separately?

Hi Veronica–thank you so much for trying this out right away!! It’s so amazing you and Melissa want this print in your yoga practice rooms! I am on hold waiting to find out more, but at this point, you have to buy things separately. I didn’t learn how to set up a shopping cart. I guess I didn’t think anyone would want to buy more than one thing at a time!! Sorry! Learning as I go. . .
