I’m sure it was not your intent, but I feel much better about the possibility of ending up with an electric rather than the gas stovetop I am used to as we continue on our house hunt.

Loved it. I am a funny combination of thinking it’s funny when I’m wrong and being very stubborn about things I know in my heart are right for me. Here’s to all the colors and the grey in between. Thanks for your kind words–gentle hugs and giggles back!

Right or surprised…I can be caught clapping my hands with glee when I see something in a whole new light…I confound strangers with my delight in being oh so wrong

My youngest son (17) is often invited to play a game with me, something I need to play a lot, it’s list all the reasons someone might have behaved a particular way, I get such a kick out of this when I have come up with everything and then he finds more ideas…Yesterday it was about why my friend hadn’t called/messaged and we had a huge list and then when I finally spoke to said friend, we both just laughed and laughed when it was something else again, something I just could never have come up with.

Many years ago, I was a very ‘black and white’ person and now apart from all the colour in my life, I am as grey as can be!!! I I know anything,it is that I know nothing.

And sometimes I forget this too!

I love you Maria. Thanks for being in my world,

Gentle hugs and giggles,

Deborah

I’m so glad you decided to leave me a comment–I really enjoyed reading about the perspective you gained from moving the hot water heater in your basement and how my post reminded you of that. Thanks, too, for the kind words about your pleasure in reading. which makes me very happy. I’m glad you’re looking forward to the banana bread post too. Now i just have to finish it. 🙂

I’ve been following your posts for quite some time, having been introduced to your blog through Susan’s. I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to comment, but in any case, here we go! Your story struck a chord with me because about two weeks ago, I had my hot water heater moved from the middle of the basement (in full view) to a corner closet where it’s now nicely hidden. A few months ago I replaced my old oil tank with a newer, stand-up model which left me wondering how I could best use the space. Anyway, the result is that I now have to wait a bit longer for hot water to come through the faucet. At first it frustrated me as I wasn’t used to waiting more than a second or two, but the more I’ve thought about it, the more I like it. We can all stand to slow down a little more, even when there’s a sink full of dishes. It’s the same reason I gave away my microwave last year. Slow food, like slow tea, is much more pleasing to the palate. Speaking of which, I’m looking forward to that banana bread! 🙂

I enjoyed hearing your love of gas stoves and your good memories of cooking on an electric one with your Mom. No one was more surprised than me about how much I am enjoying the switch back! And yes, I am enjoying the quiet and the perfectly brewed tea and quesadillas! 🙂

I’ve always been a gas stove lover, but grew up with an electric one (and my parents still have one), so it does have a sort of “happy memory” association, all the time my mom and I spent at that stove cooking… It is nice to be surprised sometimes – there needs to be a happy medium between being right and wrong. 🙂
I’m happy to hear you’re settling in to the new place well! It sounds like a great place, quieter than before. Enjoy the perfectly brewed tea and quesadillas!

I am honored.

I so enjoyed reading about your own experience with returning to electric stove, and that the “forced marriage” turned out to be a boon for you, too! I’m glad you’re interested in the banana bread recipe. Thanks for the well wishes about my new home.
