2 16-ounce cans baked beans — (vegetarian style)
1 1/2 cups crushed pineapple — drained
2 Tablespoons finely chopped onion
2-4 Tablespoons maple syrup — or other sweetener
Preheat oven to 400. Combine all ingredients; stir well. Spoon into a 2-quart casserole dish. Bake uncovered at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Makes about 6-8 servings.

For baked beans, the only vegetarian kind I’ve found is Bush’s. For everything else, I use the organic store brand at Kroger. You really have to read each can because some types have added sugar (lots of kidney beans have sugar added).
